Looking for a shamanic drum that performs reliably regardless of the weather? We’re proud to introduce our latest innovation: an adjustable* shamanic drum that’s simple to tune!
The drum’s adjustability makes it a trustworthy companion. During summer’s humid weather, you won’t be caught out – you can easily adjust the drum skin’s tension using the inner tube. This feature is particularly handy when you need an ‘always playable’ drum for healing work, forest journeys, or performances.
Note: We use a car-type valve for easier adjustment. A standard bicycle pump won’t be compatible with this valve.
A beautiful and unique shaman drum that was handcrafted with love and care in our workshop in Finnish Lapland. The sound is higher and quieter than in bigger drums so it can be played in apartment buildings and other similar environments. Being light-weighted, it’s best suitable for traveling and for children but it is still sturdy enough for not being a toy.
S size drum is suitable for small-scale drumming. It has a soft sound that is perfect for playing by oneself, in small groups and for relaxation. You can also use it for decoration.
Being environmentally friendly and ethical, we source our materials locally from known and responsible suppliers. The frame is made of double-layered birch plywood which has been waxed with wood wax. The drumhead is Finnish reindeer skin that is either dyed with water colour stain or left natural. There is a wooden handle attached behind the drum.

*Please note: whilst the adjustable drum is a reliable instrument, it won’t perform in extreme conditions either. Also bear in mind that pumping air – tightening and loosening – stretches the drum skin and will, over time, affect its acoustic properties.

Our adjustable S-size (∅31 cm) shamanic drum makes an excellent first drum, producing a deep, vibrating sound. The skin tension is easily adjusted by pumping air into the inner tube.
The frame is crafted from double-layered birch plywood, finished with wood wax. The drum skin is made from local reindeer hide, available in either natural or beautifully water-stained colours. Each drum is unique in appearance. At only 500 grams, it’s easily portable whilst being sturdy enough not to feel like a toy. The wooden handle provides an excellent grip, and the drum comes with a felt-covered wooden beater.
Care and Storage
This shamanic drum is low-maintenance, though there are a few basic principles to remember:
- Apply leather conditioner several times a year
- Store on a wall, away from direct sunlight and radiators (strong air conditioning can also dry out the drum)
- Never leave in a hot car during summer
- The drum doesn’t fare well in overly dry conditions, as the skin may overtighten and tear
- More detailed instructions are included with your drum
Tuning
Customisation
You’re welcome to decorate your drum as you wish. The reindeer hide can be painted with acrylic, marker, or oil paints (do test unusual materials first). You may carve symbols into the frame or attach talismans.
Consecrating Your Shamanic Drum
The consecration of a shamanic drum is an ancient tradition where owner and drum ‘bond’ together, making the drum deeply personal. Whilst not essential, it’s a meaningful traditional practice.

You can order the shaman drum from the online store or by email. After receiving the order and payment, we will usually pack and mail the drum within 1-3 days.

The products have a standard return policy of 14 days. If you do not wish to keep the drum please contact us for a refund.
